Three Lions of Sport
When Dale Caffrey bought a warehouse-worth of classic Futera cards, he created a business that went beyond just selling
trading cards and albums. Together with Robert Teasdale, they started Three Lions Sport - a company that sells cards &
albums, licensed images and arranges Match Packages that take fans to actual Premiership games. And, they're also about to
start a football cafe.
Based in Megan Phileo Promenade, Kuala Lumpur, 3 Lions Sport's main business is it's classic cards and albums and it
carries Futera's whole Premier League archives until 2000. And since it owns the cards, it owns the rights to the images on
the cards - which brings us to the company's other business, supplying licensed visuals to companies and explaining how to
best make use of them. How successful is this? Celcom ordered 3 million cards when it was first made available to corporate
clients.
What would make most fans froth at the mouth, though, are the company's "Match Packages". The company has official allocations
for overseas trips for fan clubs and general public - that include hotel accommodation, flight tickets, game tickets,
stadium tours, match programme, and club gifts with the likes of Man U, Everton, Man City, Arsenal, Blackburn and Chelsea.
Cool, eh?
In the pipeline from the company is a football cafe - a la a Hard Rock Cafe of football - and the Legends Tours, which
would bring famous ex-players to Malaysia (and other Asian destinations).
