Liverpool Football Club - Collectors Cards
The arrival of Bill Shankly at the back end of the 1950s transformed
the club into a powerhouse that brought the League title back to Anfield after nearly two decades. He then
led a fantastic footballing side on a great European adventure that would last 30 years.
With Shankly's successors Paisley, Fagan and Dalglish
Liverpool enjoyed unparalleled success in domestic and European competition. Following Shankly's simple but effective footballing
philosophy they ensured that the 1970s and 1980s belonged to Liverpool.
With Kenny Dalglish leaving the
club as it came to terms with the tragic events at Hillsborough, the team entered a transitional phase. League and European
success has eluded the club but under Gerard Houllier the Liverpool renaissance is taking shape. LFC
